We all expect\" data-image=\"\" data-button=\"\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/www.linksalpha.com\/images\/social_share_button.png\" alt=\"Share\" class=\"linksalpha_image\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/www.linksalpha.com\/scripts\/loader_iconbox.js?v=2.4\"><\/script><\/span><\/div><p>Whether or not you agree with the President&#8217;s and the Democrat&#8217;s position regarding the current debt-ceiling-crisis, I will assume that you probably want public officials to speak the truth when they talk about matters in current discussion between the White House and Congress. We all expect political spin during a campaign, and sometimes we even enjoy the spin, but not in these discussions. Two days ago, the President spoke&nbsp;publicly&nbsp;about his belief that the debt-ceiling should be raised. To bolster his argument, he specifically commented that if the Republicans didn&#8217;t yield on their insistence that there be no increase in taxes, Social&nbsp;Security&nbsp;payments to retirees might stop next month.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>When I heard him say this, I was&nbsp;irritated&nbsp;at his political spin, but didn&#8217;t think anyone would really take that statement seriously.
