Today on ABC Radio News, I heard a newscaster describe the current stand-off between Republicans and Democrats regarding the budget. The newscaster put it this way: “The Republicans are opposed to small tax increases on corporate CEO perks and on rich people who own private jets. The Democrats are opposed to any changes in Social Security or Medicare.”
