The International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge 2010

Scientists can find beauty by looking up someone’s nose, or inspecting a slimy mass of seaweed, or following the flight of a bat. The proof is found in this year’s competition for the coolest images in science and engineering, The International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge 2011 sponsored by the National Science Foundation and Science Magazine. The above link will bring up a slide show containing eleven images. Several are videos; don’t miss them – especially slide 12, GPS and Relativity. This link will take you to the YouTube version of the GPS and Relativity video, so you can see it on full screen.
